This division also produces substrate process chemicals vital for diverse manufacturing processes, including those for semiconductors, silicon and compound semiconductor wafers, and optics. Amtech Systems distributes its products globally through a combination of its own direct sales force and an extensive network of independent sales representatives and distributors. Founded in 1981 and headquartered in Tempe, Arizona, the company initially operated as Quartz Engineering & Materials, Inc. before officially adopting the name Amtech Systems, Inc. in 1987.
