The Gene Therapy segment focuses on the development and commercialization of a diverse portfolio of gene therapies. This includes Canerpaturev, an oncolytic virus derived from an attenuated herpes simplex virus type 1, designed to induce antitumor activity and tumor lysis through local injection. The segment is also advancing siTCR gene therapy, currently in Phase I/II clinical trials for synovial sarcoma, and CD19 chimeric antigen receptor therapy, also in Phase I/II trials for adult acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Additionally, the company supplies RetroNectin, a key component for gene therapy applications. Established in 2002, Takara Bio Inc. maintains its headquarters in Kusatsu, Japan, and operates as a subsidiary of Takara Holdings Inc.
